solid weekend

VCU hockey came back on Friday from a 3-0 deficit after the second period to win 4-3 final score. didn’t score, but set up the game winning goal by breaking out the puck to the winger who passed it to the center in the middle for the goal (hockey talk) got the assist in other words.  Although we lost to CNU in the semi-finals, we played our hearts out. wish things could have bounced our way more often in that game but things never work out perfectly. Finished third in the Colonial Division my rookie season, can’t complain much there. Next year, gonna win the whole thing. calling it now.

even though we lost, there is always an upside to things. I got to go on our first official date as a couple with my girlfriend Jill tonight. she’s great. Hope and Mark finally got to meet her in person and I cannot wait until we can all hang out as friends. Madison is the last roommate to meet her and I hope her and Jill can be friends.

Next weekend, I get to rock the black visor while playing at the Verizon Center after the Capital’s game. #swag #OvechkinStatus

But in all seriousness, this weekend has taught me that no matter how hard you work, things will not always go your way. Sometimes, you need to adjust on the fly and change your plan in life. If you can’t find the answer, it may take your third or fourth try to figure it out. Also, even if you don’t win the championship, you are a winner. Overcoming the odds and coming together as a team to move on in the playoffs with your brothers is the greatest feeling in the world.

Cheers folks. Here is to a great six months of no hockey. Until next season, V-C-U RAMS!
